Unser nächstes Ziel heisst „Pinnacles“, so eine komische Wüstenformation rund 260 km nördlich von Perth. Wir ziehen früh los und haben ein wenig Mühe aus der Grossstadt rauszufinden. Bald aber war‘s dann klar, denn nach Norden ging ja nur eine Strasse (jedenfalls irgendwann mal…).
Nicht weit weg vom Nationalpark finden wir in Jurien Bay einen idealen Platz zum Übernachten. Der ist so gut, dass wir dann gleich 3 Tage bleiben. Alles ist hier zu Fuss zu erreichen. Beach, Einkaufen, Cafés und das Pub. Wer schon mal in Australien war, weiss das dies ein absoluter Glücksfall ist.
Die Beach mit dem Pier gefällt uns sehr. Endlich sind die Temperaturen in einem tropischen Bereich, so dass auch die Abende sehr, sehr angenehm warm sind, auch wenn manchmal der Wind ganz schön pfeiffen kann (und unser neu erstandenes Zelt gleich ein wenig ramponiert). Da nehmen wir auch die doch sehr heissen Mittagsstunden gerne in Kauf.
Colin und Mattia geniessen so richtig den Strand, insbesondere der Grosse mutiert zu einer richtigen Wasserratte, während der Kleine doch recht zurückhaltend ist. Er redet sich meist mit den vielen Haien im Wasser raus.
Doch vor lauter Beachtime vergessen wir die „Pinnacles“ nicht und bewundern diese dann während eines Ausfluges.
Eine ganz schön verwunschene Landschaft.
